Bring it on, 2018.
Since we can’t contain ourselves any longer, we’ve decided to give you a little preview of our upcoming SS18 collection. Here’s a trend guide highlighting what’s to come.
Ladies first.
Colour palettes
This year, there’s something for everyone. You’ll see bright colours (like electric blue and tomato red) as well as neutral shades gracing our shelves. Also, expect leopard print to be making a comeback.
Checkerboard
Popularized by the iconic Vans slip-on, the checkerboard pattern will steal the spotlight this season. You'll find it on our socks, fanny packs, backpacks, sandals, Authentics, SK8-His and Slip-ons (obvi).
The 90s
When you think of the 90s, platforms probably come to mindS/O to the Spice Girlsas do grunge looks inspired by punk culture. Tartan, buckles and leopard print are key elements borrowed from the punk movement that make their return to our stores and your feet this spring season, likely until next winter. The brands to watch for the 90s kid at heart: Little Burgundy, Puma and Vagabond Shoemakers.
Minimalist ring-toe sandals
Spoiler alert! This season, we’ll be carrying Calvin Klein sandals finally! Our favourites are without a doubt the ring-toe silhouettes that inspired a few models from our own collection.
Pointy flat shoes
We’re not the only ones stoked for the return of pointy-toe shoes. Brands like Vagabond, Sam Edelman, Native, Matt & Nat have also decided to forego the rounded toe in favour of this style. We’ll be offering them in loads of colourways and materials to please all the ladies out there.
Suede heeled mules
Inspired by the Italian mule, very popular at Mansur Gavriel, this model is definitely this season’s must-have piece. The mule made its comeback in seasons past and was quickly adopted by many. This summer, expect it to be even more popular than ever.
And now for the fellas...
Colour palettes
We’ll be focusing on neutral tones, especially when it comes to brands like Timberland, New Balance, Nike and adidas. Meanwhile with Vans, you can expect pastels. More to come on that later...
The casual dress shoe
Even our biggest sneakerheads know that there’s a time and place when a dress shoe can come in handy, especially in the springtime. For dress shoes that still veer casual, Floyd is definitely the brand to watch.
Pink and pastels
Pastels and shades of pink will be a huge men’s footwear trend this season and Vans and adidas are getting in on the action. Yep, get ready to add pink to your wardrobe, fellas.
Back to basics
The essentials. The styles you can’t live without. A pair of Chucks, Club Cs or Anaheims are the winning investment. When in doubt, always trust the classicsmake that your motto this season.
