Brands | Blundstone
Blundstone is a global brand that was established in 1870. Their iconic collections are both rugged and unique. Whether you’re navigating Tasmania or the sidewalks of New York City, you’re guaranteed to feel great in a pair of Blundstones.
How does Blundstone sizing work?
Blundstones run in Australian unisex sizes. Convert the number to Canadian sizes by adding 3 sizes up for women and adding 1 size up for men. For example, a 6 AU would be a women's Canadian size 9 or a men's Canadian size 7. Don't worry - we did the math for you on each Blundstone product page. Check the 'Select Size' dropdown for details or refer to our Blundstone size chart. Are Blundstone boots waterproof?
Here at Little Burgundy, we carry the Blundstone 1478 Winter, 584 Winter and 566 Winter that are all 100% waterproof. All other styles are water resistant - they're made with thick weatherproof leather which prevents most water penetration but not necessarily all.
Will my Blundstone boots stretch?
After multiple wears, Blundstone boots should mold to your feet and stretch slightly above the instep, if needed. Keep in mind they won't stretch in length; when choosing the right fit, make sure there's enough space in the front of the boot. If the fit feels too snug, try going a half size up.
Are all Blundstone styles unisex?
Most Blundstone styles that we carry here at Little Burgundy are unisex with the exception of the women's heeled boots 1671, 2064, 1677 and 1673 and men's dress boots 1901 & 1900.
Is Blundstone a good choice for winter?
The Blundstone Winter styles that we carry here at Little Burgundy, such as the 1478 Winter, 584 Winter and 566 Winter, are made to handle harsh winter conditions. These styles are made with waterproof leather and have elastic sides lined with Thinsulate to help keep you warm. They also feature a removable footbed made of genuine sheepskin fleece for added warmth and comfort. On warmer days, you can swap the footbed for a more classic insole, making these styles extra versatile.
How do I clean my Blundstone boots?
Blundstone makes boots that are built to last but that doesn't mean you should cut corners when it comes to taking care of them. It's important to clean and hydrate your boots regularly. To clean them:1. Brush off any dirt or residue.
2. Use a clean cloth to wash your boots with a mix of 2/3 water and 1/3 vinegar.
3. Wipe them dry with another clean cloth and let them air dry, avoiding close proximity to any heat source that could warp the shape of the boots.
4. Once dry, don't forget to hydrate your boots by applying a leather conditioner.
Should I go for the Blundstone Chisel Toe or the Original?
There's really no wrong choice. They're both great comfortable styles. They do, however, slightly differ in fit. The Chisel Toe sits higher and is more fitted around the ankle in comparison to the wider, shorter Original. The Chisel Toe also offers more space in the front of the boot. The Original, on the other hand, comes with a thicker insole with double Poron on the heel for increased shock protection. Stop by one of our Little Burgundy stores to try both styles out!
Blundstone VS Dr. Martens
The decision really depends on your needs and your personal style. Blundstone is a great choice for long outdoor hikes. They offer great support and comfort. They're easy to put on and they're also water-resistant and have solid traction. While Dr. Martens also offer great support, they do take a while to break in before becoming more comfortable. The Airwair sole provides added cushioning and the Goodyear welt makes the boots durable and water-resistant. Keep in mind that with the exception of the WinterGrip styles, Dr. Martens' can be slippery in winter conditions.
When it comes to style, Dr.Martens leans more edgy, city casual while Blundstone keeps it simple, focusing their design on comfort.
