Tell us a little about yourself.
MARCUS: I would have to say I’m a Renaissance man.
NASKA : I’m a photographer.
How did you discover your respective passions for fashion and photography? MARCUS : As far back as I can remember, I was always into fashion. At a young age, I liked textures and clothing and always wanted to put outfits together.
NASKA : My love for photography started before I picked up a camera with just being a visual, creative person. I used to sketch a lot, draw lot. The camera was just a natural progression into the secondary step of showing my art.
Looking back at your childhood, what would you say really shaped your work? NASKA : When I was a kid, my father used to be a DJ. He used to have a lot of vinyl records in the house. I’d try to redraw and recreate what I used to see on my favourite album covers. That kind of progressed into me trying to recapture those album covers with photography.
MARCUS : Our father also used to write a music magazine and he used to bring us to concerts. We’d get to meet anybody who was doing anything amazing. Just exposing us to that world of entertainment, celebrity, writing, music, creativity. It really shaped us to be who we are.
What does multi mean to you? MARCUS : Multi makes me think of more than. More than really means that you're not who people say you are. We live in a society where you have to be put in a box. We wear many different hats. Being more than, being multi, in todays society, means you can be multiple things. It means you have the ability to dream and to be more than people say you have to be.
