Hiking boots and trail sneakers are taking the fashion world by storm.
Far from sleek, this trend strays from conventional fashion standards and veers a little more practical. Rugged, oftentimes chunky, silhouettes keep the focus on technical attributes like GORE-TEX constructions, making the trend totally wearable and, dare we say it, comfortable. Hiking boots regularly make an appearance as staple items in fall/winter collections but this year, the trend has stepped it up, bringing with it a new hybrid silhouette: the trail sneaker. Part sneaker, part hiking boot, the style first gained prominence in 2013 after A$AP Rocky’s appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman when he sported over-the-top Lego boots from De Stijil Mondrian’s SS08 collection. The trend presents an interesting anomaly, taking shoes traditionally worn in the great outdoors for rock climbing or hikingshoes that haven’t typically been praised for their appearance, that some may even consider clunkyand brings them to the high streets of fashion. |

Ready to try it for yourself? Take on the trend with the adidas Terrex Eastrail Mid GTX hiking boot and Terrex CMTK trail running shoe. Both styles are fully waterproof and windproof with superior breathability, all thanks to their top-of-the-line GORE-TEX build. Their cushioned midsole and high traction outsole offer optimal grip and all-day comfort. Whether you’re headed downtown or hitting the trail, this is one trend that can do it all.
