MURAL Festival: Complete Guide to the 6th edition
A week of celebrations and street art
Everything you need to know about what went down
MURAL is back for its 6th edition - woot-woot! Needless to say, it is definitely one of our fave festivals of the summer. And, you’re in luck because the party is still on and going strong until June 17th. With many events taking place all over the city of Montreal, we thought we’d share with you our selection of curated happenings that are not to be missed.
What is MURAL? The premise of this festival lies in the opportunity to highlight artists through their work of decorating the walls of our beloved city with the most amazing pieces of art. The first thing on your list should be to take the guided tour of the murals. Organized by the festival, a tour guide will take you on a 90-minute walk around the Plateau neighborhood through which you will discover all the best wall paintings (or hidden gems) produced since 2013. Selfie alert!
On June 12th, in collaboration with our friends at Puma, the up & coming brand Atelier New Regime hosts a party that is sure to invade your IG feed. What to expect: music by Tommy Kruise, High Klassified, a special secret guest, and giveaways. Need we say more?
MURAL is not only about street art, it’s also about having a good time with the homies. What a better way to catch up than over great eats. Make sure not to miss Grill Saint-Laurent, where 10 restaurants will prepare their specialty dishes on the grill for under $6 on June 13th & 14th.
Because Shepard Fairey is God, you definitely don’t want to snooze on the “OBEY GIANT” film screening at Portugal Park on June 14th at 9 pm. Think underground street art, punk rock, skateboarding and politics and you’ve got yourself a great night.
Is there a better way to end a week of fun with the fam than with a block party? You can count on Îlesoniq bringing the best electronic music vibes mixed in with the illest hip-hop beats and jaw-dropping dancers in order to seal the festivities on Saturday, June 16th.
PSA: you may need a week to recover from the madness.
